Today, we're excited to announce that we have added additional functionality to help you time your activities correctly with prospects.
There are a lot of important details that go into determining whether today may or may not be a good day to engage somebody, a big part of which is whether you and the people you are contacting are likely to be in the office.
Today, sequences work by providing an interval between each step to help you space your activities apart, and then a schedule to help target the specific days of the week and times of the day to perform those steps.
As you engage your audience, and some folks are out of the office, Outreach has been able to detect which folks are out of the office by looking at the automatic response from their inbox, and automatically pausing them and queueing them up to be re-engaged after a certain amount of time.
As of today, we now also offer a way to help you avoid engaging people when they are likely to be out of the office, by identifying which days are US Federal holidays, and therefore should be skipped.
Within Outreach, simply navigate to your Schedules section, and click into one of your schedules.
Beneath the setting for using the local time of the prospect, there is now a new checkbox that says, "Exclude Federal US holidays from schedule".
In practice, once this is enabled and saved, as the sequence does its job of determining when the next call or email should happen based on the interval of the sequence, and the schedule time blocks you have setup, it will also look to see if this happens to be a date it should avoid, and do so.
To simplify the idea, just think about this checkbox as creating a day that you otherwise didn't have a time block on, where the email or call will be queued up on the next day of the week (on the schedule) where you do have a time block.
This feature is live right now, and we strongly encourage you give it a try on a few of your schedules to optimize your timing.
