Outreach’s AI Year in Review: 2024 Wrapped

With the 2024 season ending, we're strolling through memory lane to recount some of our most exciting product innovations of the year. AI was a big one for us, and our team worked hard this past year to integrate AI’s capabilities in game-changing features and new products that we knew our customers needed for success.  

With the vision of harnessing AI to enable sellers to have more time for what really matters, we unleashed AI’s potential on prospecting, conversation intelligence, forecasting, email communication, and more. Let’s unwrap Outreach’s biggest AI innovations of 2024. 

AI Prospecting Agent

Perhaps our most exciting innovation of 2024 is one that isn’t fully released yet, but that we’ve been hard at work building all year. At Explore24 earlier this month, we announced our new AI Prospecting Agent private BETA, set to launch as public BETA in February 2025. This game-changing AI tool automates prospecting tasks, like parsing data, identifying high-quality leads, and sending personalized outreach. With human-led, AI-assisted workflows, sellers can streamline their workflows with an AI agent trained to understand unique revenue funnels and pipeline goals. The AI Prospecting Agent will transform the prospecting process, turning it into a seamless, automated workflow that enhances efficiency and accelerates sales cycles. 

Smart assist features 

This year, sales teams embraced the power of AI to tackle tedious, time-consuming tasks, so they could free up their time to focus on building relationships and closing deals. Here are a few of the key smart features Outreach released this year to assist sales reps with their workflow: 

Smart email assist 

Designed to streamline email responses, Outreach’s Smart Email Assist automated the creation of thoughtful, personalized email drafts based on prior conversations. Smart Email Assist crafts communication, allowing sellers to customize, adjust, and edit based on the account’s unique needs. 

The best part? It’s all embedded seamlessly into workflows in Outreach’s platform and in email with the Outreach Everywhere extension, making it easy for sellers to integrate into their day-to-day without disruption. 

Smart deal assist 

Smart Deal Assist was designed to give sales teams clarity into the current state of their deals. By analyzing data from the last 10 meetings and 80 emails to deliver concise summaries of recent deal activities. It also answers key questions like “What are the potential risks?” and “What are the next steps?” enabling sales teams to identify challenges, uncover opportunities, and plan effectively. 

Smart account assist 

Smart Account Assist extends the power of AI beyond individual deals to the broader scope of account management. Leveraging data of recent meetings and emails, this feature generates concise summaries and provides answers to critical questions about account risks, opportunities, and next steps. Unlike Smart Deal Assist, which focuses on single deals, Smart Account Assist operates at the account level, providing a more holistic view of customer engagement. 

Smart coaching at scale 

Another exciting moment in our AI journey was our advancement to our conversational intelligence software, Outreach KAIATM. The smart coaching tool assists sellers during live calls and meetings, acting as a reliable partner in real-time interactions, delivering content when the seller needs it most. In the past year, we added additional AI features, transforming it into a smarter coaching companion for sellers. New features like Custom Topics and Topics Report enable managers to track specific trends beyond our 22-out of the box themes, uncover risks, and deliver data-driven coaching tailored to individual reps.  

But that’s not all. With tools like the new AI powered Kaia Coach Cards, Coach Card Report and Coaching Metrics, leaders can also dive deep into each rep’s buyer interactions, get visibility into how managers are coaching and how they are offering precise feedback to drive improvement and celebrate wins. 

As we look ahead to 2025, the future of sales is brighter than ever with AI leading the charge. Outreach’s continued investment in AI will only amplify the impact of these innovations, empowering sales teams to work more efficiently, make smarter decisions, and ultimately drive better results.
